Navy Rings Commemorate a Sailor’s Service
The history of the United States Navy is actually broken up into two distinct periods. The Continental Navy was established in 1775 and disbanded in 1785. However, the United States Navy recognizes 1775 as the official date of establishment. The Navy was re-established in 1794 and grew to become the most powerful Naval force in the world. The core values of the Navy, honor, courage, and commitment, are a testament to this country’s sailors today.
Currently, there are almost 350,000 active duty Navy personnel and 130,000 Naval Reservists. These sailors protect America’s shores, both here and abroad. It’s through their tireless dedication, commitment, and bravery that the United States remains free today. One way to honor these men and women is with Navy rings.
